Zone A ( New Norcia, Dalwallinu. Dowerin)
This zone has seen significant historical seismicity. In the 1950’s there were magnitude 5 events in the Gabalong and Yerecoin areas, accompanied by hundreds, if not thousands of smaller events.
In June 1979, a Mag 6.2 event occurred near Cadoux, causing significan damage to the small town. Again, this event was accompanied by hundreds, if not thousands of smaller events.
In Sept 2000, a magnitude 5.2 event occurred west of Burakin (about 30 km NW of Cadoux), and two more magnitude 5 events occurred there about 6 months later. Again, accompanied by hundreds, if not thousands of smaller events.
Significant clusters of events have also been noted near the town of Kalannie
